IMRB greenlab

The GreenLab working group was created at the end of 2020 by elected representatives from different staff categories. It currently has nine members, five of whom are elected to the Institute Council.

This working group aims to reduce the environmental footprint of our research activities and has already implemented various measures:

  • Identification of a GreenLab contact person in each IMRB team to liaise between GreenLab and the teams;
  • Implementation of cone box recycling;
  • Recommendations for waste sorting (paper, cardboard, ink cartridges, glass, chemical waste, batteries, etc.).

In addition, in collaboration with the scientific outreach committee, communication initiatives have been implemented:

  • Seminars on environmental issues, climate challenges, and eco-responsible practices in research, both within our Institute and during Créteil Life Sciences Day;
  • Regular dissemination of “Interlude Greenlab” messages from the ADEME eco-responsible guide or based on Labos 1point5 activities in the IMRB weekly newsletter (IMRB-1week) to raise awareness of sustainable development among IMRB staff.

We meet every two months. The working group can be contacted by email at: greenlab.imrb@inserm.fr

Our next project is to quantify the carbon footprint associated with our Institute’s research activities and determine one or more trajectories for reducing these emissions.
