Publication in Lancet of the results of the SEPREVEN* study: randomized trial conducted in 12 neonatal intensive care units in France with the theme of patient safety.

Promoted by the CHIC of Créteil with the support of the CRC of the CHIC, the results of the SEPREVEN* study were published on January 21, 2022 in the journal The Lancet.

This study is the result of a collaborative effort: it was coordinated by Dr. Laurence Caeymaex, head of the neonatal intensive care unit at the CHI Créteil, and jointly led by Etienne Audureau of Sylvie Bastuji-Garin’s CEpiA team and the Clinical Research Unit at the Henri Mondor Hospital. Several members of Bruno Louis’ team co-authored this publication (Claude Danan, Xavier Durrmeyer, Fabrice Decobert as the second last author).

The SEPREVEN study demonstrated the effectiveness of an intervention based on multi-professional training of caregivers (physicians and nurses) aimed at reducing the number of adverse events in a population of neonates hospitalized in intensive care.
