Congratulations to Jimena TOSELLO-BOARI, newly recruited as a research fellow at Inserm in José COHEN’s team!

Jimena TOSELLO-BOARI is an Argentinian clinical biochemist with a PhD in immunology from the National University of Córdoba. During her PhD, she focused on Chagas disease, a neglected tropical disease endemic in Argentina, by studying the role of IL-17 cytokine families in the biology of neutrophils and depleted CD8+ T cells using a mouse model.

In 2017 she joined Dr Eliane PIAGGIO’s team at the Institut Curie, where she refocused her research on cancer and translational immunology. There she identified key therapeutic targets involved in the biology of regulatory T lymphocytes (Tregs), paving the way for innovative therapeutic approaches.

She has just been admitted to the competition for Chargés de Recherche de Classe Normale (CRCN) in José COHEN’s team, where she will lead the ‘Immune Regulation: Fundamental and Therapeutic Aspects’ group. Her aim is to gain a better understanding of the immune mechanisms involved in allografts in patients with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), and to modulate them in order to improve their management.
